The men visited the island of Nosy Be, off the north-west coast of Madagascar. We covered the final stretch in a rowing boat (see first picture). In the south-east of the island lies the Lokobe Nature Reserve, whose forests are home to lemurs, chameleons, geckos and frogs. In the morning, we went on a guided tour of the rainforest.
At lunchtime, we took a boat to a small island where we were expected for lunch. The lemurs in the trees watched us very closely whilst we were eating.
Then we went snorkelling among the coral reefs there. It was a truly impressive experience – unfortunately, there are no photos of it.
Our women decided to go on a different outing that morning and visited a few villages on the island, as well as the sacred lake of Nosy Be.
