St. Petersburg
is justifiably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. With its 65 canals and river arms, it is called the Venice of the North. St. Petersburg was founded in 1703 by Peter the Great as a window to the West.
During our two visits in 2000 and 2012, we were pleased to see that much has already been renovated and the city and palaces shine in new splendour. Others have noticed this too, and so the flow of tourists has increased massively in the 12 years.
