In the Prophet Elijah Church in Yaroslavl on the Volga, there is one of the most beautiful icon walls (iconastasis).
The oldest building in Yaroslavl is the Cathedral of the Declaration of Christ in the Monastery of the Saviour. The cathedral was built in 1506-16 on the foundation of an old wooden church from the 13th century.
Kishi, a peninsula in Lake Onega where wooden churches can be admired. They come from the surrounding area and were erected here as museum churches.
