Church Notre Dame, Rouffach

The construction of the Cathedral of Our Lady began in the 11th century. The Romanesque transept with crossing tower from the 11th century and the Gothic nave from the 13th century form a Romanesque-Gothic transitional style. The west façade dates from the end of the 13th century. Many sculptures were destroyed during the revolution. The transept, reinforced by strong buttresses, still shows the original Romanesque window openings as well as the old gable design with blind arcades. A figure with a hunting horn can be seen at the southern corner.
