The Seine meanders through Paris and divides the city into the left and right banks (rive gauche and droîte). The most important sights are located along the river. The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay and Notre Dame Cathedral line the banks. More than 35 bridges span the Seine in Paris.
