A highlight was the visit to the Cathedral of Santa Maria in Burgos. Unlike many other large Gothic cathedrals in France and Germany (and in Vienna), the one in Burgos was completely finished. The Moorish and Spanish style elements that characterize it are interesting. Admission to the cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, cost pilgrims one euro in 2004, and 3.5 euros in 2013. A visit is always worthwhile and you should take plenty of time, visit all the side chapels and let all the works of art take effect on you.
