Düsseldorf is the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia and has several Rhine ports. The airport is the intercontinental hub of North Rhine-Westphalia. The city is also home to 22 universities, including the Düsseldorf Art Academy and Heinrich Heine University. Düsseldorf is also known nationwide for its old town ("longest bar in the world"), the Königsallee shopping boulevard ("Kö") with the Kö-Bogen and the Düsseldorf Carnival. Other attractions include numerous museums and galleries and the Rhine promenade. Numerous skyscrapers and church towers, the 240-metre-high Rhine Tower, many architectural monuments and seven Rhine bridges characterise the cityscape.
