G and V in Valletta little tower

Malta is a group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea between Sicily and the North African coast. The country is known for its historical sites, which bear witness to the successive conquests by the Romans, the Moors, the Order of St John, the French and the British. Malta is home to numerous fortresses and megalithic temples.

We visited the island at the turn of the year 2023/2024.

In the photo we are in Valletta in the Upper Barrakka Gardens, where you have a very nice view of the Grand Harbour and Birgu (Vittoriosa) and Senglea.

Marriott

We stayed at the Marriott Hotel in Balluta Bay. This is a bay on the north-east coast of Malta near St Julian's. It is a popular place for swimming, diving and water sports with a triangular square surrounded by cafés and shaded by Judas trees. The silhouette is dominated by the neo-Gothic parish church of the Carmelites and the art nouveau buildings of Balluta.
