The Great Ocean Road (B100) is one of the most famous car routes in Australia. Again and again you can get close to the thundering waves of the Southern Ocean. One sees steep limestone cliffs, surf beaches, heathlands and rainforests. The famous 12 Apostles are the highlight along the way. The spectacular rock needles look as if they were simply forgotten in the sea by the receding headland. They can be admired from wooden catwalks with viewing platforms at the top of the cliffs.
