From Genoa we took a ferry to Palermo, arriving early in the morning. We stayed in a nice beach hotel near Palermo and made excursions from there. We visited: Palermo, the monastery of Monreale, the town of Erice, the Greek temple in Segesta, the coastal town of Cefalù, the Roman villa in Piazza Armerina, the Aetna, Taormina and the town of Castelbuono. There was much more to see, but there was not enough time.
