Johann Sebastian Bach was born on 21 March 1685
in Eisenach as the son of the town piper Johann Ambrosius Bach.
On the assumption that this was the birthplace of J.S. Bach, this Eisenach house was acquired by the New Bach Society in 1906/07 and furnished as a museum.
The house where he was born was very close by at Lutherstrasse 35 (formerly Fleischgasse), but the original is no longer preserved.

This little organ in the musical instrument collection dates back to Bach's time and comes from Austria. Therefore, an Austrian had to operate the straps for the bellows for the demonstration.
