The second largest city in the Australian state of Victoria is a commercial, port and industrial centre. It is not necessarily the place for a longer holiday.

Geelong is located at the western end of Port Phillip Bay, which is called Corio Bay in this part, about 46.5 miles southwest of Melbourne. The city centre is between the bay and the Barwon River. From the city to the open sea is about 12.5 miles. East of Geelong is the Bellarine Peninsula. The famous Great Ocean Road begins a little to the south
